Philodendron‘Green Princess’

The Philodendron Green Princess is a striking plant featuring dark-green glossy oval shaped leaves that are detailed with subtle lines across the face. While the Philodendron family is known for its large leaved beauties, this plant has been designed to showcase the elegance of its simplistic foliage while growing to the limited height of only 50-60cm. This creates a perfect combination of its easy to care for Philodendron nature, while being a plant that will not dominate too much space in your home.

Product Description

How to care Philodendron Green Princess?

1.Temperature

The Philodendron Green Princess prefers a warm and humid environment.

2.Light

The Philodendron Green Princess will thrive in medium, indirect sunlight. However, it will tolerate a shadier position. Direct sun light will burn its leaves.Watering

Likes moist soil. Not too wet and not too dry. Water regularly but allow the soil to partly dry out before watering again. The roots do not like to be left wet so ensure that your pot has good drainage.

3.Soil

The Philodendron Imperial Green prefers a rich bark/peat based soil which is not too heavy. It needs to be able to retain moisture, but not hold water.

4.Fertilizer

Use a balanced liquid fertiliser during the spring and summer growth period.

5.Toxicity

Philodendrons are toxic plants. Digestion of any part of the plant can cause problems. Keep out of reach of both children and pets.

6.Maintenance

The Philodendron Green Princess needs clean leaves to photosynthesise in order to feed itself. Regularly wipe your plants leaves with a damp soft cloth or give it a full shower every now and again to remove any dust that has accumulated. This will ensure you will have a healthy pest free plant.

7.Re-potting

When the Philodendron Green Princess roots appear to have filled the bottom of the pot it is time to upgrade the pot size.

POTENTIAL PROBLEMS

1.Leaf Discolouration: If the edges of the leaves are yellowing it can indicate that the plant has been over watered. Alter your watering regime and your plant should return back to normal.

2.Mealy Bugs: The Philodendron Green Princess is not typically prone to pests or diseases. However, like all plants there is a chance you may encounter mealybugs and aphids. Mealybugs can be dealt with by dipping cotton buds into rubbing alcohol and wiping the mealybugs.
