How to Properly Care for Philodendrons Plants

September 27, 2021

In our opinion, plant care is a win-win situation. You look after your plants by providing them with nutrients, light and water; they look after you by reducing stress levels, lifting your mood and creating a relaxing home environment.

Monstera & Philodendron are a great family of plants! There are many species in the genus, but they tend to have some sort of arrowhead or spear-like dense foliage with a distinct plug. Let's see how it can improve your living environment.

How to care for Philodendrons

Watering

As these plants are almost always epiphytes, in the wild they draw nutrients from the air rather than through the soil. As potted plants you should wet their soil, but try spraying once a week to replenish some of it. philodendrons prefer their soil slightly moist for most of the year, but don't overdo it or the roots will rot.

Light

Philodendrons tend not to like direct sunlight, preferring partial shade to direct sunlight. We recommend popping yours up in the shade of a sunny room or a cool room where there is a panoramic view of the sky.

Environment

These plants are native to the rainforests of Central and South America. They like it warm and moist! Just make sure your Philodendrons are kept away from draughts so they are kept in a constantly warm environment and mist your plants in the morning so that the water around the plant evaporates and the leaves don't get wet.  For more details please visit ODM. How Philodendrons look after you

Living with houseplants, practising active plant care and building a relationship with nature has been shown to benefit our health in a number of ways.

The benefits of Philodendrons include improving the quality of the air you breathe, inducing a sense of calm, trapping dust and helping you feel alert.

The natural form of green is associated with a feeling of buoyancy and is closely linked to health. So if you are looking for plants to make your home feel fresh and vibrant, green miracles and green sweetheart plants are a great way to achieve this.

Philodendrons specialise in improving the air quality in your home. philodendron leaves are covered with tiny pores that absorb carbon dioxide and expel oxygen. All plants produce oxygen when they photosynthesise, but the large surface area of this group of plants means they are particularly effective at doing so.

If you lightly spray your Love Green vine every 5 to 7 days, it will increase air humidity and can reduce diseases such as dry skin and breathing problems.
